Bernard Abraham Westover, Jr., of Rolla, MO, formerly of Cambria County, passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017 at the age of 49.
He was born in Cambria County on March 8, 1967 to Bernard A. Westover Sr. and Mary Ellen (Weakland) Westover.
Mr. Westover served his country honorably in the U.S. Army for 22 years retiring in 2007 earning the rank of Command Sergeant Major. While in the service he also earned a bachelors and masters degree in business and finance.
Bernard “Bernie” was preceded in death by a brother, David Westover.
He will be greatly missed by his surviving family which includes his wife, Cheryl Westover, of Rolla; his parents, Bernard Sr. and Mary Westover, of Northern Cambria, four children, David J. Westover, of Nashville, TN, Bernard Westover III and wife Mindi, of Rolla, Kevin D. Westover and wife Cristina, of Clarksville, TN, and Morgan A. Westover, of Santa Rosa, CA; two stepsons, Dustin J. Davis and wife Samantha, of Rolla, and Jacob R. Davis and wife Jennifer, of Clarksville, TN; one brother, Leroy Westover, of PA; three sisters, Colleen Whittle, Arlene Miller, and Betsy Westover, all of Pa., two grandchildren, Bernard A. Westover IV and Ryan J.D. Davis, both of Rolla; nieces, nephews, other extended family members and dear friends.
A funeral service with full military honors will be held at 11 am Friday, February 3, 2017 at the Long Contres Funeral Home in Northern Cambria, PA. A visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service Friday beginning at 10 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the East Ridge Cemetery in Westover, PA.
