Stossel, Charles A. 86, Northern Cambria, passed away October 18, 2017 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born March 17, 1931 in Garmantown, son of John and Antonia (Bienias) Staszel. Preceded in death by parents, brothers Stanley, Joe, John, Andy, Walter, Frank and Mike and sisters Mary Scott and Ann Yaros. Survived by wife Regina (Jean) Prusak whom he married November 13, 1954, children Ken (June Zemrose) of Cherry Tree and Carol (Ray) Duman of Indiana, grandchildren Dr. Laura Stossel and husband Dr. Jonathan Wright of San Antonio, Texas and Dr. Michele Stossel of Clymer and fiancé John Craig of Altoona. Matthew and Deanna Duman both of Indiana. Brother of Helen Carr of Florida and Josephine Schall of Wisconsin. A former drag-line operator for various coal mines and retired from South Bend Limestone Company.  Charles was a member of UMWA 6461 District 2 and of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. He was an avid sportsman and loved baseball, hunting, fishing and mowing grass. “Big Chuck” loved his family and friends and his occupation of operating drag- lines. Friends will be received from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Long-Contres Funeral Home, Inc., Northern Cambria. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.  at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Rev. Donald Dusza. Committal St. John the Baptist R. C. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association @ Landmarks Building, 100 West Station Square Dr., Pittsburgh, Pa. 15219-1122.
