Eget- James Anthony , 73, Northern Cambria, passed away February 12, 2017 at the Palliative Care Unit of Conemaugh Hospital.  Born March 29 1943 in Spangler, the son of George and Josephine (Mongelluzzo) Eget.  Preceded in death by parents; sister Gloria Clipper Prelock; niece Audrey Lunardi McClendon; brothers-in-law, Donald Clipper and Robert Prelock. Survived by wife of 49 years, Doris (Carson) Eget; daughters Lorie, wife of Dr. Donald Ratchford, Ebensburg; Jamie, wife of Robert Sherry, Northern Cambia; Kari, wife of John Weiland, Nicktown; sons James Anthony Jr. and wife Leslie (Latoche) of Crownsville, Maryland; George and Betsy (Wrask) of Waterbury, Vermont; grandchildren Addison James and Caroline Ratchford; Taylor, Georgia and Anna Sherry; Kallin Eget-McGlynn and Johnny Weiland; James Anthony Eget III and Quintin Eget.  Sisters Joanne (Amadei) Lunardi of Garrettsville, Ohio and Georgette (George) Kutsor of Pontiac, Illinois; Cousin Anthony DiGirolomo. Also, many nieces and nephews. Jim worked at Greenwich Collieries and retired from Blair Sign Company. He was a member of Prince of Peace Church.  Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved spending time with family and friends at his camp in Potter County or in a duck blind on the eastern shore.  A proud and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he was always ready to cheer on his children and grandchildren on the soccer field, at a basketball game, or at a dance recital alongside his wife, Doris. In more recent months, Jim found a great appreciation in researching his ancestry and genealogy.  The family extends a very special thank you to the wonderful and compassionate staff of Palliative Care and the ICU who cared for Jim during his final days. Friends will be received on Wednesday, February 15 from 5-8 PM at Long-Contres Funeral Home, Northern Cambria.  Funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 16 at 11 a.m. at Prince of Peace, Northern Cambria. Monsignor Stanley B. Carson and Father Larry Lacovic  officiating.
